I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

II CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982 - STREET NAMES - SITE AT FORMER LOCK-UPS, CLEPINGTON ROAD, DUNDEE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN30-2018 informing the Committee that a consultation was carried out between 21st February, 2018 and 12th March, 2018 for a new street name at the above site.

 

The consultation correspondence was sent to Ward Councillors, Convener, City Archivist, Community Forum, Council Officers and the applicant.

 

After consideration, it was proposed to put forward the new street name of "Balgray Terrace" to keep links with existing names in the area.

 

The Committee approved "Balgray Terrace" as the new street name.

 

III NEW ROADS - ROAD CONSTRUCTION CONSENTS

 

There was submitted Agenda No AN31-2018 where reference was made to Article VI of the minute of meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee of 27th April, 2009 delegating the grant of road construction consent to the Executive Director of City Development with the proviso that any consents granted be reported to the City Development Committee as soon as practicable thereafter.

IV CYCLING, WALKING AND SAFER STREETS (CWSS) PROJECTS COMMENCING 2018-2019

 

There was submitted Report No 134-2018 by the Executive Director of City Development seeking Committee approval for officers to identify and deliver cycling and walking improvements across the City of Dundee utilising the Cycling, Walking and Safer Streets Grant Funding.

 

The Committee agreed to approve the cycling and pedestrian work themes for the year 2018-2019.

 

V STATUTORY UNDERTAKERS (UTILITY COMPANIES) PERFORMANCE IN REINSTATEMENT OF ROADS IN DUNDEE - 2017/2018

 

There was submitted Report No 147-2018 by the Executive Director of City Development providing a summary of the performance of Statutory Undertakers operating in Dundee during 2017/2018.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) noted the performance of Statutory Undertakers reinstatements in Dundee based on the visual sample inspection regime and the local coring results for the last year;

 

(ii) approved the continuation of the annual local coring programme and participation in the biannual national coring programme; and

 

(iii) noted the status of the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005, Part 2 - Road Works, different parts of which came into force on 1st April, 2008 and 1st October, 2008.

 

VI TENDERS RECEIVED BY HEAD OF DESIGN AND PROPERTY

 

There was submitted Report No 150-2018 by the Head of Design and Property detailing tenders received and requesting a decision thereon:-

 

(i) WALLACETOWN NURSERY - BOILER REPLACEMENT

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 102,305.38, to which required to be added allowances of 17,164.25, making a total expenditure of 119,469.63.

 

(ii) BLACKNESS PRIMARY SCHOOL - PLAY AREA

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 88,195.03, to which required to be added allowances of 117,364.81, making a total expenditure of 205,559.84.

 

(iii) ARDLER NURSERY SCHOOL - ALTERATIONS FOR 1140 HOURS

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Construction Services in the sum of 892,084.24, to which required to be added allowances of 298,299.31, making a total expenditure of 1,190,383.55.

 

(iv) COASTAL PROTECTION - BRIDGE STREET TO ANGUS BOUNDARY ROCK ARMOUR REVETMENT

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from Tayside Contracts in the sum of 495,992.20, to which required to be added allowances of 60,000, making a total expenditure of 555,992.20.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

VII SALE OF LAND AT NO 1 HOLDING, DRUMSTURDY ROAD, DUNDEE

 

There was submitted Report No 109-2018 by the Executive Director of City Development seeking approval for the sale of land to the west of No 1 Holding, Drumsturdy Road, Dundee.

 

The Committee approved the sale on the terms and conditions detailed in the report.

 

VIII SALE OF LAND AT 4 INVERARY TERRACE, DUNDEE

 

There was submitted Report No 112-2018 by the Executive Director of City Development seeking approval for the sale of land to the east of 4 Inverary Terrace, Dundee.

 

The Committee approved the sale on the terms and conditions detailed in the report.

 

IX SALE OF BUILDING, EAST SCHOOL ROAD, DUNDEE

 

There was submitted Report No 135-2018 by the Executive Director of City Development seeking approval for the sale of Downfield House, East School Road, Dundee.

 

The Committee approved the sale on the terms and conditions detailed in the report.
