Residents asked to prepare ahead of strike action

Residents in Dundee are being asked to read over published council information and follow advice to help manage the impact of planned waste services strike action across the city.
Dundee City Council has been issued with industrial action notice that waste employees who are members of Unite the Union will strike from Wednesday 14th August to Wednesday 21st August inclusive.
This will result in all bin collections and street cleaning being suspended for the duration of the action. The city’s household waste recycling centres will also be closed during this period, with the council’s bulky waste uplift service and trade waste collections also not taking place.
Residents can view a detailed webpage on the Council’s website on how city services will be impacted and how best to manage waste in a safe and responsible manner during this strike period.
Members of the public can follow the latest waste service arrangements through the Dundee MyBins App which is available for mobile and tablet devices for both Android and iOS users.
Updates on suspended services and details on the resumption of services following the strike action will also be shared through the Dundee City Council website, and the council’s Twitter/X or Facebook pages.
