Scottish Climate Week in Dundee

Scottish Climate Week will be marked in Dundee this year with a free Re:City Smart Energy for Everyone interactive educational event on climate action and energy transition.
The event, taking place between the Overgate and Steeple Church from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 28th September, will have a Smart Energy theme and focus on smart mobility, renewables, heat-pumps, funding opportunities, DIY projects and other climate-related matters.
Information will be available from representatives from Home Energy Scotland, Dundee Cycle Hub, MVV Environment, Urban Releaf and more, while creative recycling activities will also be on offer from ScrapAntics.
Climate, Environment & Biodiversity Convener Cllr Heather Anderson said: “This exciting event offers members of the public with the opportunity to learn more about how to have a positive impact while making action work for them and tips on where it might be possible to save money as well.
“The Re:City event took place last year with positive feedback from attendees as an engaging way to take part in Scottish Climate Week locally.”
Fair Work, Economic Growth & Infrastructure Convener Cllr Steven Rome said: “It’s great to see local organisations, groups and companies getting involved for what is undoubtedly an important cause.
“Scottish Climate Week only comes around once a year but it’s important that we make the effort to learn more about the challenges we face and how we can all make an impact, both individually and together.
“The activities on offer are interesting for all ages and, this year, focuses on the task of energy transition.”
The national Scotland’s Climate Week 2024 is taking place between Monday 23rd September and Sunday 29th September encouraging the sharing of ‘Stories for Change’.
