    closed from Saturday 17 March for up to 5 days for carriageway repairs.

    closed for 7 weeks for facilitating development works.

    closed for 24 weeks for hotel development works.

    closed for 45 weeks for site development works.

  • A90 Kingsway West (Myrekirk Road to Buttars Road)

    overnight (7.30pm - 6.30am) lane closures in both directions until Friday 27 April for lighting works.

  • Mary Ann Lane (South Marketgait for 52m in a northerly direction)

    closed for 8 weeks for demolition works.

  • South Union Street/South Marketgait at Dundee Railway Station

    northbound nearside lane closure from 9.30am for 8 weeks for footway works.

  • Riverside Drive/South Union Street at Dundee Railway Station

    off-peak (9.30am – 3.30pm) east/northbound nearside lane closure for up to 2 weeks for footway works.

  • St Ann Lane

    closed for 2 weeks for Scottish Water main upgrade works.

  • Summerfield Avenue (Drumgeith Road to Maybole Place – east leg only)

    closed northbound from Tuesday 13 March for 5 days for remedial reinstatement works.

  • South Road (at Mallaig Avenue)

    give and take traffic control for up to one week for street lighting work.

  • Harefield Road (Coupar Angus Road to Tofthill)

    lane closures in both directions for 2 weeks for street lighting works.

  • Clepington Road (Fairmuir Street to Mains Loan)

    closures and restrictions in 5 single phases from Monday 19 March for 14 weeks as follows.  No phases will run together.  Phase 1 – closed westbound from Balgray Place to Caird Avenue.  Phase 2 - prohibition of parking on south side between numbers 106-126.  Phase 3 – closed eastbound from Graham Street to Mains Loan.  Phase 4 – closed westbound from Mains Loan to Graham Street.  Phase 5 – closed eastbound from Fairmuir Road to Old Glamis Road for Scottish Water mains renewal.

  • Strathmore Avenue (Strathmartine Road to Hospital Street)

    closed westbound from Monday 19 March for 5 days for pedestrian crossing works.

  • A90 Kingsway West (at Myrekirk roundabout)

    overnight (7.30am – 6.30pm) eastbound lane closure on Monday 19 March for carriageway patching works.

  • Fintry Road (at Finavon Place)

    temporary traffic lights from Wednesday 21 March for one week for BT duct laying.


  • Bellfield Street (Hawkhill to No 24)

    closed from Monday 26 March for 5 days for sewer works.

  • Strathmore Street, Barnhill (Abertay Street to Abercromby Street)

    closed from Wednesday 28 March for 3 days for tree felling works.

  • Lochee Road (at Benvie Steps)

    temporary traffic lights on Wednesday 28 March for Scottish Water sewer repair.

  • North Lindsay Street (Ward Road to South Ward Road)

    closed from 6.00pm - midnight from Monday 2 April for 5 days for BT duct laying.

  • Johnston Street (at North Lindsay Street)

    closed from Monday 2 April for 5 days for BT duct laying.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
