    closed on Saturday 8 August for demolition works.

  • A90 Kingsway (from Old Glamis Road westwards)

    overnight (7.30pm – 6.30am) westbound lane closure from Sunday 9 August until Friday 14 August for gully cleaning operations.

  • Carnegie Street/North George Street (Carnegie Street for 40 metres west)

    closed for one week for sewer works.

  • South Castle Street (Riverside Esplanade to Blackwatch Parade)

    closed for 12 months for urban beach development works.

  • Douglas Terrace from Dundee Road to Home Street (Section 1), Douglas Terrace from Home Street to Westfield Road (Section 2), James Place from Westfield Road to Church Street (Section 3), Fisher Street from Church Street to Fort Street (Section 4) and Fisher Street from Fort Street to Ambrose Street (Section 5)

    closed in phases as described for 18 months for Flood Prevention Works.  No more than 2 sections may be closed at the same time.

  • South Ward Road (North Lindsay Street to Argyllgait)

    closed for 13 weeks for building refurbishment works.

  • St Leonards Place (Macalpine Road for a distance of 150m)

    closed for one week for sewer installation works to new housing.

  • South Road (A923 Coupar Angus Road to Perrie Street)

     closed from Monday 3 August for 2 weeks for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Seafield Road (Balgillo Road to Luke Place), Broughty Ferry

    closed for up to 4 weeks for Scottish Water emergency repair works.

  • King Street (from St Vincent Street to Castle Street), Broughty Ferry

    closed from Monday 10 August for 5 working days for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Tannadice Street (North Isla Street to Neish Street)

    closed on  Tuesday 11 August for television broadcast works.

  • Broughty Ferry Road (Market Street to Eden Terrace)

    closed from Friday 14 August for 5 working days for gas main renewal.

  • Lochee High Street (St Anne Lane to Marshall Street)

    closed on Sunday 16 August for Scottish Water Ironwork Repairs.

  • A92 Arbroath Road (Balgillo roundabout to Panmurefield roundabout)

    overnight (8.00pm – 6.00am) eastbound nearside lane closure on Thursday 13 August for carriageway repairs. 


  • Gleneagles Avenue (Troon Road (including roundabout) to Turnberry Avenue

    closed from Monday 17 August for 5 days for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Long Lane (Fort Street to Union Street)

    closed on Monday 17 August for 5 days for SSEN electrical service connection works.

  • Victoria Road

    nearside northbound lane closure for one week from Monday 17 August for Scottish Water work.

  • Brown Constable Street (Cowan Street to Victoria Street)

    closed in two phases from Wednesday 19 August for 2 days for Scottish Water work.  Phase 1:  Cowan Street to Arthurstone Terrace.  Phase 2:  West Lyon Street to Victoria Street.

  • Pitkerro Road (Morgan Street to Forfar Road)

    closed on Sunday 23 August for Scottish Water work.

  • Dalkeith Road (Phase 1 - Arbroath Road to Waverley Terrace, Phase 2 - Waverley Terrace to Broughty Ferry Road)

    closed in 2 separate phases as stated from Monday 24 August for 8 weeks for drainage installation.

  • Strawberrybank

    closed from Thursday 17 September for 5 working days for wall maintenance works.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
