    closed for one week for facilitating development works.

  • Dens Street (Constable Street to Princes Street)

    closed for 3 weeks for hotel development works.

  • Earl Grey Place West

    closed for 24 weeks for site development works.

  • Lundie Avenue (North leg)

    closed for up to one week to facilitate service connection works.

  • Trades Lane (junction with Seagate)

    closed for 10 months for development works.

  • Gourdie Brae/Liff Road

    temporary traffic lights for 2 weeks for SSE Telecoms duct laying.

  • Riverside Drive (at Riverside Approach)

    temporary traffic lights for 3 weeks and prohibition of right turn from Barnetts Garage until mid-week for gas main renewal.  Riverside Approach closed from mid‑week for 2 weeks.

  • A90 Kingsway (at Old Glamis Road roundabout)

    overnight (7.30pm – 6.30am) southbound lane closed for one week for structural repairs.

  • Baldovan Road (Pitcairn Road for 50m northwards)

    closed for 3 weeks for retaining wall reconstruction works.

  • Pitkerro Road (Madeira Street to Dalkeith Road)

    temporary traffic lights and rolling side street closure for 3 weeks for water mains renewal.  Madeira Street closed for one week.

  • Charleston Drive (Forth Crescent to Lochart Place)

    closed in 2 phases for 2 weeks for carriageway resurfacing works.  Phase 1:  Spey Drive junction – 11-12 August.  Phase 2:  Spey Drive to Lochay Place – from 13 August for 2 weeks.

  • Dens Road (at Isla Street)

    temporary traffic lights and turning prohibitions from Tuesday 14 August for one week for Scottish Water main renewal.

  • Buttars Road

    temporary traffic lights for up to one week for footway works.

  • A90 Kingsway (Old Glamis Road to Forfar Road)

    overnight (7.30pm - 6.30am) northbound nearside lane closure for one week for third party works.

  • A92 Arbroath Road (Panmurefield roundabout to West Grange roundabout)

    overnight (7.00pm - 6.30am) – eastbound nearside lane closure on Wednesday 15 August for barrier repair works.

  • Riverside Esplanade (South Crichton Street to South Union Street)

    off-peak (9.30am – 3.30pm) off‑side westbound lane closure from Monday 13 August for one week for facilitating development works.

    rolling road closure on Saturday 18 August affecting the following streets:  Arbroath Road, Princes Street, King Street, Cowgate, Panmure Street, Meadowside, Reform Street, High Street, Nethergate, Perth Road, Roseangle, Riverside Approach, North Marketgait and East Marketgait.

    closed on Saturday 18 August for crane lifting works.

    northbound nearside lane closure on Sunday 19 August for Scottish Water manhole repairs.

    closed northbound from Monday 27 August for 5 weeks for kerbing and drainage works for new housing development.

  • Loons Road (Lochee High Street to Coupar Street)

    closed from Monday 27 August for 4 days for gas service connection works.

  • Hill Street (Bruce Street to Mortimer Street closed and temporary traffic lights at Hill Street/Bruce Street junction)

    from Tuesday 28 August for 5 working days for Scottish Water renewal work.

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
