Equality Outcomes and Mainstreaming Reports
The Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012 placed a duty on Dundee City Council and Dundee Education Authority to publish Mainstreaming Equality reports by 30 April 2013 and to report every two years after that on progress. It also requires public authorities to publish a fresh set of equality outcomes every four years.
In April 2013, Dundee City Council published its first bi-annual Mainstreaming Equality Report. Our bi-annual report contains:
Equality and Diversity
The Equality Act 2010 (the Act), which harmonised and replaced previous equalities legislation, came into force on 5 April 2011. The Act placed a general equality duty on public authorities to pay due regard to the need to:
Integrated Impact Assessments
The Council makes use of an Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) process to assess reports for the following policy implications prior to submission to Committee:
- Equality & Diversity
- Fairness & Poverty
- Environment
- Corporate Risk
