  • Seafield Road, Dundee  

    closed from its westmost end (in cul-de-sac) extending for a distance of no more than 20 metres in an easterly direction to facilitate a site access for a new housing development until November 2025. 

  • Constitution Road (from its junction with Bell Street to North Marketgait)  

    closed until September 2025 for redevelopment of multi‑storey car park and adjoining areas.

  • Earl Grey Place West (South Crichton Street west for 50m)  

    closed until March 2025 for facilitating construction works. 

  • Blinshall Street (Douglas Street to 50 metres south)  

    closed until December 2024 for construction works. 

  • Douglas Street (Blinshall Street to Brown Street)  

    temporary traffic lights until December 2024 for construction works.     

  • Brown Street (south of Douglas Street)  

    closed until December 2024 for construction works.

  • Ward Road (North Lindsay Street to West Marketgait)

    lane closure until 30 November for demolition works.

  • Mary Ann Lane  

    closed at north end until Friday 1 November for redevelopment of car hire business.  Access/egress for residents of former DP&L Shipping building maintained from south end.

  • Dens Road (Arthurstone Terrace to Dura Street) 

    closed until 31 October 2024 for Scottish Water repairs to water main.

  • Tulloch Crescent  

    closed to pedestrians (road has no vehicular access) until Friday 18 October for works associated with a new housing development.

  • Rose Lane 

    closed to pedestrians (between Rosebank Road and Arthur Street) until Friday 18 October for ongoing housing development works.

  • Scottish and Southern Energy Network Elmwood Cable Renewal Scheme  

    rolling road closures from Monday 24 June for 28 weeks: 

     

    • Charleston Drive (Elmwood Road to Glamis Road) – closed eastbound until Friday 11 October;

     

    • Charleston Drive (at Elmwood Road south side) – temporary traffic lights from Friday 11 October for 2 weeks;

     

    • Elmwood Road (Charleston Drive to Sutherland Place) – closed from Friday 11 October for 2 weeks; and

     

    • Tullideph Road (City Road to Ancrum Road) – closed westbound for 3 weeks.
  • Riverside Avenue/Dykes of Gray Road (at Swallow roundabout)   

    closed Monday to Friday overnight (7.00pm to 7.00am) from Monday 1 July for 10 months for junction improvement works.

  • A90 Kingsway (at Swallow roundabout)  

    overnight (7.30pm to 6.30am Monday - Friday) contraflow from Monday 1 July 2024 for 10 months for third party works.

  • Lower Pleasance (Lochee Road to Brewery Lane) 

    closed for 2 weeks for Scottish and Southern Energy Network work.

    rolling road closures from Monday 30 September for 19 weeks:

     

    • West Queen Street (Victoria Road to Claypotts Road) closed for 4 weeks followed by;

    closed until Wednesday 9 October for Scottish Water work.

  • Douglas Road (Longtown Road to Happyhillock Road)  

    closed from Monday 30 September for 2 weeks for water connection works to new development (only closed in one direction at any time).

    nearside eastbound lane closure with off‑peak (9.30am to 3.30pm) temporary traffic control for one week for Scottish and Southern Energy Network work.

    temporary traffic lights for 5 weeks for Scotland Gas Network work.

    temporary traffic lights from Monday 7 October for one week for electrical connection works.

    closed at its junction with Brantwood Avenue.  Commencing Monday 7 October for 10 days for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Glenesk Avenue

    closed at its junction with Loons Road.  Commencing Monday 7 October for 10 days for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Lawside Road 

    closed at its junction with Loons Road.  Commencing Monday 7 October for 10 days for carriageway resurfacing works.

  • Emmock Road 

    temporary traffic lights from Monday 7 October for 2 days for utility scanning works.

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
