Councillors act as a voice for local people. They help individual residents, represent their local area and develop strategies and services for the city as a whole. Councillors also oversee the performance of one of Dundee's biggest organisations, employing over 6,000 staff and spending over £400 million every year.

Dundee has 29 councillors, split between eight wards and elected by proportional representation. The wards are Coldside, East End, Lochee, Maryfield, North East, Strathmartine, The Ferry and West End.

Councillors are easy to contact - at their regular surgeries, by email, by contacting their offices in the Council or by calling them on their advertised telephone numbers. Details of surgeries, phone numbers and email addresses are available on our Councillors contact page.  Or you can write to all our Councillors at City Chambers, Dundee DD1  3BY.
