* NOTICE *
The current phase of the Caird Hall improvements means that building works are restricting access to Archives to members of the public via 14 City Square.
Temporary escorted access for members of the public is now in operation until later in the summer. (On some days it will be necessary to enter the City Archives via the Caird Hall stage door entrance on Shore Terrace).
This also means that access by Archive staff to two of our principal stores will be by arrangement with the contractors, therefore we will need as much notice as possible for production of Council minutes and church records.
Members of the public wishing to visit Archives should could call at reception at 18 City Square, where the reception staff will contact us to see what can be arranged. Seating is available while you wait for Archive staff to respond.
Archives may have to close completely to the public at short notice, and if so, warning of this will be put on our website.
Once this work is completed, it is hoped that the Archive's public search room will then be relocated to 1 Shore Terrace with full wheelchair access and an education/workshop room.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
