Dundee is a vibrant, modern, affordable city set in a stunning location at the mouth of the River Tay on the east coast of Scotland.
Dundee is Scotland's fourth largest city. Glasgow lies 90 miles to the west, Edinburgh 60 miles to the south, and Aberdeen 67 miles to the north.
The most recent estimate of Dundee's population was 142,170 (General Register Office (Scotland) 2005 Mid-year Population Estimate).
Dundee also has a sizeable student population, and is home to the University of Dundee, the University of Abertay Dundee and Dundee College.
There are many types of housing available in Dundee ranging from bed-sit flats to larger detached homes. Your choices about the type of property available to you will depend on your circumstances, your income and your immigration status.
Nearly half of the properties in Dundee are privately owned, the rest are rented by the Dundee City Council, housing associations and private landlords.
Like most cities there are areas where demand for housing is very high and other areas where demand is lower.
Over the last 10 years a lot of work has been done to regenerate parts of the city to improve housing and the environment.
