This type of housing is designed to meet the needs of people who are aged 60 or over who require additional support to live independently. Housing is located on the ground and upper floors. Accommodation above ground floor is serviced by a lift.

The service has all the features of sheltered housing along with the following additional support provision:

  • Located in purpose built sheltered housing complexes
  • Controlled entry access to complexes
  • Dining facilities with meals provision
  • Cleaning of common areas
  • Specially equipped bathrooms; allowing assisted bathing

How do I apply for very sheltered housing?

The first thing you have to do is apply for sheltered housing. To do this you can go to the Applying for sheltered housing page or contact our Lettings Centre, Tel: 0300 123 9023 or 01382 307400. Your application will be assessed and you will be awarded a category that reflects your housing/medical need.
