Dundee Partnership Executive Boards

The Dundee Partnership had five Executive Boards from 2017 to 2023. Their role was to oversee Community Planning processes within the scope of the City Plan (Dundee's Local Outcome Improvement Plan or LOIP). This included sharing planning, leadership, and resources to make things happen effectively, and monitoring of relevant activity. Details of their remit are listed in the section below.

In September 2023, the Dundee Partnership Management Group agreed to replace most of the Executive Boards with three Strategic Leadership Groups, and so all except the Community Safety and Justice Executive Board were stood down. Community Safety and Justice continues as it has a statutory function to carry out.

Executive Board Remit

Each Executive Board within the Dundee Partnership will have the responsibility to:

Provide shared, overall leadership of the strategic theme (Work and Enterprise; Children and Families; Health, Care and Wellbeing; Community Safety and Justice) on behalf of the Partnership
Identify and implement improvements in governance and accountability to communities and partners
Drive collective achievement of the agreed outcomes as set out in the Local Outcome Improvement Plan/SOA for Dundee 2017-22 and subsequent reviews
Agree high level, collaborative priorities for inclusion in the LOIP based on a strong analysis and evidence of local needs, circumstances and opportunities
Set short, medium and long term outcome performance targets and indicators and the partnership actions required to achieve these
Performance manage and report annually on the outcome achievement
Co-ordinate activity with other Dundee Partnership strategic and cross cutting themes *Cultural Development; Sustainability; Protecting the Public; Substance Misuse)
Create effective mechanisms to empower and engage with communities
Understand, act upon and reduce inequalities of outcome where these are experienced in Dundee
Identify and deploy sufficient joint resources to meet agreed ambitions
Organise, plan and deliver collective services and actions using a locality approach
Plan and implement a decisive shift to prevention

Individual Board Priorities

Each of the Executive Boards worked towards a particular part of the Vision for Dundee as a priority, stated below:

Children & Families: Children in Dundee will have the best start in life and reach their full potential.

Health, Care & Wellbeing: People in Dundee will have improved physical and mental wellbeing, live independently and experience fewer health inequalities.

Community Safety & Justice: Our communities will be safe and feel safe.

Building Stronger Communities: People in Dundee will have access to better quality housing and neighbourhoods, be more empowered, have better access to green and open spaces and better transport connections
