Events and Market food safety

Community events

We all enjoy a fete or a gala and often the food stalls play an integral part in the success of these events. However Food Safety is important. If you are preparing food at home for events like school fetes or community galas, the following links take you to best practice advice from the Food Standard Agency.

Markets

The Farmers' Market is held on the third Saturday of each month throughout the year. Approximately 16 stalls selling food are anticipated per market and a representative number of food hygiene inspections are carried out throughout the year. Applicants are vetted to ensure they are registered with their Home Authority. More information regarding the Dundee Farmers market can be found on the Red Pepper Events website.

Three to four other Continental / International Markets are held throughout the year and are routinely inspected by this Department.
