Why do we need your personal information and what do we do with it?
You are giving us your personal information to allow us to assess the allocation of additional hours at nursery where you have made an application for this. This is in addition to your application to your entitlement to 600 hours of early learning and childcare as per The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014. We also use your information to verify your identity where required, contact you by post, email or telephone and to maintain our records.
Legal basis for using your information:
We provide these services to you as part of our statutory function as your local authority. Processing your personal information is on the basis that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest by the council.
If you do not provide us with the information we have asked for then we will not be able to provide this service to you.
Who do we share your information with?
The information given on this form will be held by Dundee City Council and may be processed for the purposes of all educational and personal development, health monitoring and administration. Data will be shared with SEED (Scottish Educational Establishment Database) for education research & SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) for qualification administration and with NHS for child heath, Scottish Government for Census and any other requests by them, SEEMIS (Scottish Education Management Information System) for processing your data, other Schools and Councils, cross boundary, and to pass on information about your education when moving from one setting to another.
How long do we keep your information for?
We only keep your personal information for the minimum period amount of time necessary. Sometimes this time period is set out in the law, but in most cases it is based on the business need. The Council uses the Scottish Council on Archives Retention Schedules and your admission form is kept for 1 year following the current school year as per reference 10.002.003. Your rights under data protection law:
