The Garden and Allotment Competition is run by Dundee City Council as part of the 'Take Pride in Your City' campaign, which aims to encourage the public to work together to improve the city's environmental quality and image as an attractive place to live, work, shop and visit. The competition celebrates all the hard work people across Dundee are putting into their growing spaces and is open to all within the city boundary, including schools, businesses, and community gardens, in addition to individual residents.

- Category 1 - Corporation Trophy (for Allotments over 7 poles)
- Category 2 - Phin Cup (for Allotments 7 poles and under)
- Category 4 - Residential Front Garden or Entrance
- Category 5 - Residential Front Garden for Council House Tenants
- Category 6 - Community Living Spaces
- Category 7 - Display of Window Boxes and/or Patio Planters
- Category 8 - Business or Retail Premises
- Category 10 - Community Garden
