What's On - Scottish Country Dance, Social Class

This friendly, sociable class meets weekly to learn dances, old and new, well-known and less familiar. The dancing is low / medium impact. It is taught by a team of experienced teachers who will take requests from participants to do a particular dance. It is a good preparation for attendance at the many dances held across the region, often concentrating on the dances on upcoming programmes.

Class members will usually have a knowledge of the steps and formations used in Scottish Country Dancing, but there is time for revision of these as they come up in the dances learnt. There is also time for refreshments in the interval. The only equipment necessary is a pair of Scottish dancing shoes, available online or at Dance Shops. Clothing should be comfortable and allow unrestricted movement.
