The hour of 9.30 pm being reached, the Committee unanimously agreed to suspend Standing Order No 25 to enable the meeting to continue.

 

I CONTEMPORARY ARTS - REVENUE SUPPORT 2000/2001

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 255-2000 requesting renewal of financial support to Dundee Contemporary Arts Limited for 2000/2001.

 

The Committee approved the level of revenue support at 243,427.

 

II MUSIC PLUS INITIATIVE - DUNDEE GUITAR FESTIVAL

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 242-2000 advising members of the Dundee Guitar Festival 2000 programme.

 

The Committee approved a grant of 6,000 to the Dundee Guitar Festival to be met from Music Plus.

 

III DUNDEE REPERTORY THEATRE COMPANY - REVENUE GRANT 2000/2001

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 252-2000 requesting renewal of revenue funding to Dundee Repertory Theatre Company (Main House) for the year 2000/2001.

 

The Committee approved the level of grant assistance as set out in the report.

 

IV DUNDEE REPERTORY THEATRE COMMUNITY DRAMA DEPARTMENT - REVENUE GRANTS 2000/20001

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report 250-2000 requesting renewal of revenue funding for Dundee Repertory Theatre Community Drama Department.

 

The Committee approved a level of grant amounting to 17,476.

 

V SCOTTISH DANCE THEATRE - REVENUE GRANT 2000/2001

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 251-2000 requesting renewal for revenue funding for Scottish Dance Theatre, Dundee Rep's Dance Company.

 

The Committee approved the level of grant of 20,436.

 

VI SCOTTISH GLASS 2000 EXHIBITION

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 263-2000 informing the Committee of the outcome of the above exhibition which had been held from 16th January to 12th March, 2000.

 

The Committee noted the terms of the report.

 

VII GRANTS TO NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS, OTHER OUTSIDE BODIES AND INDIVIDUALS

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 253-2000 seeking approval to award grants to a range of arts and heritage organisations and individuals.

 

The Committee authorised the payment of 50 for grant to a pupil of Morgan Academy for attendance at the National Youth String Orchestra of Scotland Summer Course in Bearsden, Glasgow.

VIII CULTURAL QUARTER CONSULTANTS STUDY

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage, Director of Planning and Transportation and Director of Economic Development submitted Joint Report No 241-2000 seeking approval for funding for a Cultural Quarter Study.

 

The Committee agreed to allocate 15,000 towards the Consultancy Study.
