12 Hour Non-State Parade | International Symposium
Indicated by but not limited to the ideologies circulating in Jasmina Cibic's exhibition The Pleasure of Expense at Cooper Gallery, the 12-Hour Non-State Parade international symposium is choreographed as a performative think tank and feature collective readings, case studies, storytelling, talks, performances, round table discussions, screening, and a Theatre of the Oppressed workshop.
Setting in motion a creative and critical mass of national and international practitioners from the arts, theory and social activism, the 12-Hour Non-State Parade will found a shared imaginary that unpacks, subverts and proclaims an alternative to the hegemonic discourse and hidden powers of the contemporary state.
12-Hour Non-State Parade is a continuation of Cooper Gallery's programming focus that foregrounds art as a radical and essential tool for critical thinking, enhancing and extending its capacity to contribute to a progressive social reality.
