Young singers invited to join St Paul’s Cathedral’s first Summer Pop-Up Choir

Children and young people across Dundee are being invited to discover a love of singing this summer as St Paul’s Cathedral launches its first-ever Children’s Summer Pop-Up Choir.

Taking place from 10–12 August, the three-day course is open to young people from Primary 4 to S6, offering the chance to sing well-known songs from musicals and pop, take part in fun music-making activities, build confidence and make new friends.

The course will run each day from 11am–3pm at St Paul’s Cathedral and will conclude with a concert for family and friends at 2pm on Wednesday 12 August.

Billy Muir, Director of Music at St Paul’s Cathedral, said:

“We wanted to create something fun, welcoming and inspiring for young people during the summer holidays. Whether they already sing in a choir or have never sung before, everyone is welcome. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make music together, build confidence and experience the joy of singing in a relaxed and friendly environment.”

The Summer Pop-Up Choir costs £60 for the three-day course, and no previous musical experience is required.

Places are limited and early booking is encouraged.
