he Dundee Dance Event was originally launched back in 1998 to showcase DJing talent not getting the chance to shine in local bars and clubs. The event was a first for the city and is still the largest event in the UK designed for local, up-and-coming DJs and artists from Dundee and beyond. The DDE ran for two successful years and provided a platform for the DJs to show what they could do. Many of the DJs from those early events, including DDE promoter Mike McDonald, went on to become residents at venues throughout the country and abroad, and made appearances at T In The Park and Homelands festivals.
