What's On - Flow: Using Archives to Understand Our Changing Rivers and the Environment

Join us for a discussion of the crucial role archival records play in understanding our current environment and planning for the future. Hear from archivists, academics and industry experts from SSE and SEPA who will discuss research into:

Pioneers of riverflow measurement
Planning Scottish hydro-electric schemes
Understanding changing weather patterns
Using archival data to model energy schemes and work with the changing environment and climate
Organised by Archive Services at the University, the session will begin with a tour of Flow an exhibition curated by Jean Duncan, Artist in Residence at the UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science which explores the environmental and social significance of water Flow | University of Dundee, UK. Everyone is welcome to attend either or both parts of the event.

17.30-18.30 Short presentations and panel discussion, D'Arcy Thompson Lecture Theatre, Tower Building.
