Following the enormous success of last year’s inaugural Waterstones Children’s Book Festival, our celebration of the magic of children’s literature returns in 2026. Coming to Dundee from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 February and jam-packed with author events, workshops, activities and more, book your tickets now for a truly unmissable event.

Julia Donaldson and Axel Sheffler’s beloved rhyming story of a scurrilous rat who learns a big lesson gets a stunning 15th anniversary edition featuring bonus content from both author and illustrator, and to celebration this classic picture book we have invited The Highway Rat to come to our shop and join us for some very special storytelling sessions!

The Highway Rat will be joining us for storytelling sessions at 11am and 1pm so come along and enjoy a reading from thus classic story book.

This event is suitable for children aged 2-5 years and lasts approx 30 minutes.
